Mushroom Sauce over Angel Hair Pasta

I wan’t compensated for this post. This is a recipe my dad used to make all the time and that is what it is based on.

This is a super easy and cheap meal!  Cook up some Angel Hair Pasta according to the directions on the box.  You can use another pasta if you would like I just like the ease and quickness of angel hair.

For the mushroom sauce you will need:

2 packages baby bella mushrooms cleaned and sliced(this time I just used the caps)

2 cloves garlic (or to taste)

1 red onion

1 Tablespoon olive oil

2 Tablespoons butter

1/4 cup wine (any type you enjoy)

Put oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.  Once melted add all ingredients but wine.  Cook until onion and mushrooms are soft.  Add wine and cook a couple more minutes.  Remove from heat and serve over pasta.  You can top with red pepper flakes or parmesan cheese if desired.  I also serve cheese garlic bread with this meal.  You can also add a salad as a starter.  That is it!  Enjoy!

One thing I really love about this recipe is the cost.  If you are like me you stock up on supplies when you can.  From pasta costing less than a dollar a package to produce on sale at Aldi.  This meal only cost me $.35 a serving this time.  That is if you consider this 6 servings.

There is nothing better in my opinion than an awesome meal that you could get a a restaurant for a much cheaper price.

Yep, that does look good. I love mushroom sauce, but I’ve never put it on angel hair pasta. I usually use thicker noodles or rice, but this looks like I would love it.

How super simple is this recipe. My family just loves mushrooms and this would be perfect over pasta or to use over a grilled steak. I wonder how it would taste if you used white wine for chicken that would open up a whole bunch of options. Going to have to try it.
