Authentic Mexican Dishes Start with VV Supremo!

VV Supremo

I have to admit I love Mexican food.  I could eat it every meal honestly.  So when I was asked if I wanted to review VV Supremo I was more than excited.  When I opened the box and saw this basket, I was like a child in a candy store!

I had recipes just swirling through my brain!  Not only does VV Supremo have cheese, they have Chorizo, and sour creams.

The first dish I created was Chicken burritos in red sauce.

I have to tell you that I have tried to make many Mexican dishes in the past and while they were good they didn’t taste authentic.  Well now I know why, I wasn’t using the right cheese!  VV Supremo brought my dishes from good to amazing!  Even my family noticed the difference!

I also made a very simple dish, cheese enchiladas.

Every dish I made using VV Supremo ingredients were just perfect.  Whether it was a basic cheese quesadilla  for my girls or chorizo and eggs for breakfast, it was a great meal!

Chicken Burritos in Red Sauce

1 pound skinless chicken breasts

1 can Rotel (you can also use a couple of chipotles in adobo for spicy)

Place chicken and Rotel in a crock pot and cook 6-8 hours on low and shred chicken when done.

Red Sauce

1 can tomato sauce (8oz)

4 cups chicken broth

1 Tablespoon chili powder, cumin, onion powder, and garlic powder

4 Tablespoons Flour

1 Tablespoon olive oil

Mix oil, flour and spices in a pan on med-low heat.  When you can start to spell the spices (it doesn’t take long!) add tomato sauce and broth.  Simmer for 10-15 minutes.  This is a mild sauce for my girls.  You can easily spice it up with chipotle or other hot pepper.

For the enchiladas

8 flour tortillas

1 package VV Supremo Queso Chihuahua Shredded Cheese

Pour a small amount of sauce in the bottom of the 13×9 you will use to bake your burritos.  Dip your tortillas in the sauce.  Stuff with a small amount of chicken, less is more in enchiladas, don’t over stuff.  Top with remaining red sauce and cheese.  Bake at 350 for 10-15 or until the cheese is nice and bubbly.

The cheese enchiladas I made are very similar.  I used the same red sauce.  You use corn tortillas instead of flour.  You can use VV Supremo Frisco or VV Supremo Del Caribe for the filling and topping.  You also bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

The next time you want to make a Mexican dish at home, don’t forget it’s all about the ingredients!  Make sure you use VV Supremo, it makes a difference!

I am like you, a true afficinado of all Mexican food..so your recipe is extra exciting for me. However i have one problem…I have never heard of, nor know where to purchase VV Supremo products…which highlights your meals. Can you advise me what stores (especially in Canada) carry them. Thank you
